Fokker C.X
Developped in 1934 as a two-seater reconaissance biplane for the LA-KNIL(Airforce of Dutch East Indie Airmy). The first prototype flew in Sept 1934 and 14 where delivered during 1935.
It was constructed of a welded steelpipe frame with linnen cladding and a wooden wing as most of the Fokker planes of that period. It was a good looking and streamlined aircraft which was easy to fly and handle.

Due to the fast developement in aircraft construction and changing opinions about the role of the airforce and the aircrafts, they became obsolete and where changed into trainers during 1937.

The dutch LVA (airforce department of the Dutch Army) ordered 20 Fokker C.Xs in 1936, to replace the older Fokker C.V. The first were delivered in 1937. They were not very succesfull in their strategic reconaissance role due to the lack of speed and limited range.

The Finnish Airforce used 39 Fokker C.X., most of them where license build in Finland.

During the May days (10-15) of 1940 they played a major role in the Dutch airdefence together with the Fokker C.V.s, D21s, G1s and T.Vs. Although outnumbered by the Germans with their technically advanced aircraft they flew many missions without fighter escort, using a tree hopping technique to avoid contact with the enemy. This fierce resistance resulted in a total lost of 231 German planes, which was a heavy toll for the Germans.
